What is HEBA?

The Heart of EnglandBaptist Association

As well as being part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, we are a member of HEBA - the regional association serving Baptist churches across the West Midlands and surrounding areas.

HEBA exists to support, encourage, and equip local churches as they seek to follow Jesus and serve their communities. While we remain independent in our governance and decision-making, HEBA plays a valuable role in the life of our church.

The role of HEBA

A regional family of churches

  • Support and encouragement

HEBA offers pastoral support to our church leadership, providing guidance, encouragement, and care for our ministers and leadership teams.
  • Resourcing and training

Through HEBA, we have access to a range of training opportunities, events, and resources designed to help us grow in faith, develop leaders, and engage more effectively in mission.
  • Mission and ministry

HEBA helps us connect with other Baptist churches in the region to share ideas, work together, and support new initiatives - church planting, community outreach or social justice projects.
  • Accountability and safeguarding

HEBA assists with safeguarding practices, ministerial accreditation, and church health - ensuring we are operating responsibly and with integrity.
  • Calling and developing leaders

When people in our church feel called to ministry or leadership, HEBA walks alongside us in that journey - offering discernment, training pathways, and practical support.

The Heart of England Baptist Association brings together a diverse group of churches - urban and rural, large and small - united in our love for Jesus and our desire to see His Kingdom grow in our communities. Being part of HEBA reminds us that we are not alone in our mission.
